Sven Helsen has been a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Multi-Asset/Target Allocation team since December 2019. He joined FFTW, a predecessor of BNP Paribas Asset Management, in 2015 as a Senior Portfolio Manager and member of the Rates Committee with a mandate for generating alpha ideas within the rates markets, with a specific focus on derivatives strategies. Prior to joining us, Sven was a Senior Counterparty Risk Trader in the Global Markets division of BNP Paribas in London. From 1998 to 2010, he successfully set up and ran the US Inflation and Balance-Guaranteed Swap trading desks at BNP Paribas Securities Corp. in New York. Sven has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics and an MBA from the University of Leuven, Belgium, as well as an MSc in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University (USA). Sven is based in London.
