Other wins for Islamic finance, institutional asset management and multi-asset investing
BNP Paribas Investment Partners has collected a total of five Best of the Best awards from Asia Asset Management, the Asia-Pacific regional journal of investments and pensions, recognising our efforts in areas including product innovation, Islamic finance, institutional asset management and multi-asset investing.
The country award for the most innovative product went to Indonesia, where BNP Paribas Investment Partners has become the first asset manager to offer access to a mutual fund using a mobile application, aligning with a financial inclusion programme to reach millions of potential investors in the country. Indonesia also won in the best Islamic product category.
The country award for best institutional house went to Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management Company in South Korea, repeating the 2015 win.
BNP Paribas Investment Partners won regional awards for best offshore RMB manager (as it did in 2015) and best multi-asset house.
The annual Asia Asset Management awards recognise the most outstanding players in the fund management business in Asia. They involve a comparison of the achievements and skill of each fund management company and other market players from the same country.

The value of investments and the income they generate may go down as well as up and it is possible that investors will not recover their initial outlay.
Investing in emerging markets, or specialised or restricted sectors, is likely to be subject to a higher than average volatility due to a high degree of concentration, greater uncertainty because less information is available, there is less liquidity, or due to greater sensitivity to changes in market conditions (social, political and economic conditions).
Some emerging markets offer less security than the majority of international developed markets. For this reason, services for portfolio transactions, liquidation and conservation on behalf of funds invested in emerging markets may carry greater risk.
